How to make homemade Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets.
Prep Time: 10 minutes .
Freeze Time: 2 hours.
Air Fry Time: 18 minutes .
Servings: 25-35 nuggets, depending on how large you make them .
- Chicken. In a large bowl, combine together your chicken and seasonings.
- Dredging Station. You will need two shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place your beaten egg (you can simply beat the egg in this bowl). The second bowl should contain your panko breadcrumbs.
- Dredge. Start by lining a rimmed baking sheet (that can fit into your freezer) with parchment paper. Use a cookie scoop or similar item to scoop out the ground chicken and form a nugget using your hands. Dip the nugget into your beaten egg and then into your panko. Then place the nugget on to your prepared baking sheet. You can wet your hands if needed to help keep the ingredients from sticking.
- Freeze. When you are done forming your nuggets, place the baking sheet into your freezer for at least two hours. Once the nuggets have set you can transfer them to a zip top freezer bag for long term storage.
- Air Fry. These nuggets can be air fried frozen. Spray the nuggets with oil and then place them into your air fryer basket, leaving room between them. Air fry the nuggets at 350f for six minutes. Then shake the basket and continue to air fry until the nuggets are browned and cooked through (six to eight more minutes).
- Serve. Let the nuggets cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite dip or Homemade Ketchup.
Expert Tip 👉 Your chicken is done cooking when a meat thermometer says that the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Depending on the size of your air fryer, this recipe may have to be made in batches.
