Tips for making the best air fried shrimp.
Fresh raw shrimp was used in making my coconut shrimp. If you use frozen shrimp, allow the shrimp to fully thaw and then pat them dry using a clean kitchen or paper towel to remove any remaining water as it can get in the way of the coating and its ability to stick to the shrimp.
More helpful tips for you.
- Large shrimp was used in making my air fried coconut shrimp. While you could use another sized shrimp, keep in mind that air fry times can vary.
- This recipe uses a dredging station to coat the shrimp. I like to use shallow bowls to make it easier to quickly and efficiently do this step.
- When dredging a fork or dipping tool can come in handy for keeping the shrimp from falling into the bowl.
- When placing the shrimp into your air fryer, leave room for the warm air to circulate. Depending on the size of your air fryer, this recipe may need to be made in batches.
- Feel free to take your shrimp up a notch by adding in some red pepper flakes, minced garlic, or even a dash of barbecue rub.
