    • Air Fry Time 20-30 minutes .
    • Servings 4 .
    • How to serve : Serve as a snack or as a side with Hot Dogs or Chicken.
    • Notes: My fries were made in a large airfryer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make this recipe in batches.

    1. Potatoes. Prepare your potatoes by cleaning or removing the skin. The cut the potatoes into evenly sized pieces.
    2. Soak. Places the potato slices into a bowl filled with cold water for 20-30 minutes to help remove the excess starch that can affect how crisp the fries will get. Drain the fries from the bowl and then pat them dry with clean paper towels.
    3. Season. In a large bowl, combine together your seasonings and olive oil. Then add the fries to the bowl and toss the ingredients until the fries are all well coated with the other ingredients.
    4. Air Fry. Place the coated potato slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Air fry the potatoes for 20 minutes at 400°F (200°C) , stopping halfway to toss the fries. If your fries are not crisp enough or browned, you can repeat the air fry process until you get your desired crisp fry.
    5. Parmesan Transfer the air fried fries to a large serving bowl and toss with the parmesan cheese while warm and before serving.

Tips for making the best Crispy Air Fryer Fries

Yukon gold potatoes work best in an air fryer because of their starch content, texture and flavor. Russet potatoes are also a good choice. When slicing your potatoes into fries, try to keep the sizes of the fries similar so that they can air fry more uniformly.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Soaking the potatoes is an important step in this recipe as it removes excess starch and allows the fries to get crisp. Soaking the potatoes for as little as 15 minutes can make a difference.
    2. The fries should be placed in a single layer in your air fryer. This allows for the air to circulate more effectively in the air fryer resulting in perfectly crisp fries.
    3. Lastly, air fry times can vary in this recipe depending on the size of the fries and your air fryer. Keep an eye on your fries while they are air frying, especially if you continue to air fry them after the first 20 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions about Air Fryer Fries

    1. Why aren't my air fryer fries crispy? Moisture and crowding can cause your fries to not get crisp. Make sure that all of the moisture is removed before tossing the potatoes in the seasoning and make sure that you place the fries in a single layer in your air fryer.
    2. Is it necessary to soak the potatoes?
While you can skip soaking the potatoes, know that soaking the potatoes removes the excess surface starch. The secret to getting air fryer fries crisp like "deep-fried" is removing that excess starch.
    3. Can I prepare this recipe ahead of time? Certainly you can prepare the fries and refrigerate them until you are ready to make them. Simply follow the first three steps in the recipe, cover and refrigerate the potatoes, and then air fry your fries within a day or so.
