Poached eggs are eggs that are cooked in simmering water so that when cooked, they look like white circle with a yolk in the center.

I like that making this recipe in ramekins rather than in a pot of water makes it easier to make these egg correctly.

Tips for making the best poached eggs.

Using fresh fresh eggs is essential for a good poached egg. Your eggs should also be at room temperature.

Here are some more helpful tips.

    1. Water is added to each of the ramekins to cook the eggs in. If you use hot or warm water, this can help your eggs cook a bit more evenly and quicker. If you use warm or hot water you can omit the step in the instructions for heating the ramekins with just water in them.
    2. For a large egg, a four ounce ramekin works great. Prepping your ramekin for nonstick is also a good idea.
    3. Keep an eye on your eggs as they cooks. Avoid overcooking the eggs as this will turn them into 'rubber'.
    4. When your eggs are done cooking you can use a rubber spatula to loosen the eggs from the ramekins.
    5. Carefully drain the water water from the ramekin if needed so that it does not make your tasty meal watery.
    6. Your eggs are done cooking when the whites are cooked and set. It is normal for the yolks will be runny.

How to make Poached Eggs in an Air Fryer

    Prep Time: 5 minutes.
    Air Fry Time: 10 minutes.
    Yields: 4 servings .

    1. Prep your ramekins for nonstick. I like to spray mine with olive oil. Then fill each ramekin with water about two thirds full.
    2. Place the ramekins into your air fryer and air fry the ramekins with water for five minutes at 400.
    3. Next, we will place an egg into each of the ramekins with the warm water. Open the air fryer basket (or whatever you have on your air fryer). Then crack an egg open into a measuring cup that has a spout for pouring. Then pour the egg yolk into the first ramekin. Repeat this process until all the ramekins with water have an egg in them.
    4. Set the temperature on your air fryer to 370 and cook the eggs for five to seven minutes, depending on how firm or runny you want your yolks to be.
    5. Use kitchen tongs or a similar item to carefully remove the ramekins from your air fryer. The ramekins will be hot so you may want to have oven mitts or something like that nearby to help. I use a dry kitchen towel.
    6. Carefully drain the excess water from the ramekins and then use a rubber spatula or similar tool to remove the egg and transfer it to your plate or whatever you will be enjoying it on.

Expert Tip👉 Test your ramekins before starting to make sure that they will all fit into your airfryer basket at the same times. You may need to make this recipe in batches.
