Tips for making the best breakfast biscuit casserole.

The easiest way to make this recipe is to use pre-cooked sausage that can be crumbled up into smaller pieces. If you decide to cook your own sausage, make sure that it is well drained of the fat before adding it to this recipe.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. The biscuits used to make my casserole were cut into pieces so that they could be easily placed in the baking dish to make a bottom crust. You can alternatively simply place the biscuits in the bottom of your casserole dish as-is and layer the other ingredients on top.
    2. Not a fan of sausage? You can try using cooked bacon instead.
    3. For a fluffier crust you can use jumbo biscuits.
    4. Adding chopped vegetables, such as spinach, can make this dish even more flavorful.
    5. This casserole can be prepared up to a day ahead of time and refrigerated until you bake it. It is a good idea to allow it to sit for a few minutes before placing it into your oven as it will be cold.
    6. After taking your casserole out of the oven, allow it to sit for five minutes or so to set. This will make it easier to slice into servings.
