Ingredients

Instructions

  • Start by preparing your onion. Remove the skin and slice the onions into ½- ¼" slices. Remove the smaller rings and use them for another recipe.

Make a dredging station using three bowls.

  • In a shallow bowl, use a whisk to blend together the flour, cornstarch, and desired seasonings .
  • Next, in a second shallow bowl, use a clean whisk to whisk together your egg with the milk or water.
  • In a third shallow bowl, place your panko or breadcrumbs

Make the onion rings.

  • You can prepare your basket by taking it out of the air fryer and spraying it lightly with oil or using an air fryer liner.
  • Dip the first onion slice in the flour mixture bowl, then the egg mixture bowl, and then lastly in the panko bowl, taping the onion slice on the side of each bowl after each dip.
  • Place the dipped onion ring into the fryer basket and repeat the process until you can fill the basket leaving room between each onion ring.
  • Air fry the onion rings for five minutes, flip them over, and then air fry until they are crisp and brown (five to six more minutes).
