Boil. Start by boiling your potatoes in a large pot until fork-tender (about 15-20 minutes). Then carefully drain the potatoes and let them cool for a few minutes. While your potatoes are cooling you can prepare your air fryer and preheat to 400°F (200°C).
Smash. Carefully use the bottom of a sturdy glass or mug to smash the potatoes, while they are still warm, to about a half inch thickness .
Season. Use a pastry brush or similar item to brush the oil on the smashed potatoes. Then season the potatoes with your seasonings.
Air Fry. Arrange the smashed potatoes in your air fryer so that there is space between them. Then air fry until crispy and golden brown (about 10-15 minutes), flipping the potatoes over after six minutes .
