Ingredients

Instructions

  • Gather. Start by gathering and measuring your ingredients as you will be moving quickly. You will also need a medium saucepan and a whisk.
  • Slurry. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch with the cold water. Then set this bowl aside as you work.
  • Heat. In your saucepan on medium heat, whisk together the water, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, ginger and garlic. Bring the ingredients to a low simmer, whisking continually for the sugar to dissolve and the ingredients are heated through (about one to two minutes).
  • Combine. Add the slurry ingredients from the small bowl to the saucepan and whisk the ingredients to combine. Continue whisking until your sauce has thickened to almost your desired consistency (about five minutes).
  • Cool. Remove the sauce from the heat. Use your sauce immediately or allow it to cool before storing.
