1 ⅓cupFlour- plus additional for dusting and as needed
Garlic Butter
½cupButter
1tablespoonGarlic- 3 cloves minced
1½tablespoonItalian Seasonings
½tablespoonParsley
Instructions
Start by proofing your yeast. Place the yeast, warm water, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Use a fork or a whisk to give it a quick mix. Then allow it to sit until the mixture begins to foam (about 5 minutes).
Once the yeast mixture is ready, add the oil and flour to the bowl. Outfit your your mixer with a dough hook and knead on low until the dough is smooth, slightly sticky, and elastic-like. Meanwhile, grease the inside of your instant pot with additional oil.
Form the dough into a large ball if it is not already resembling one. Then place the dough ball into your oiled instant pot.
Place the lid on the pot and set the instant pot to "yogurt" mode, according the manufacturers' directions, for one hour.
Prepare a rimmed baking sheet(s) with parchment paper or a baking mat. Also, lightly flour a clean workspace.
Once the dough is done in the instant pot transfer it to your prepared workspace and preheat your oven to 400. Lightly spray or grease a large knife then carefully cut the dough ball in half. Then cut each of the halves in half so that you have four pieces of dough.
Roll the first piece of dough on your workspace so that it forms a rope that is about a half inch wide. Then cut the rope into six evenly sized pieces. Tie each of the pieces into a knot and place the knots on to your prepared baking sheet, leaving about two inches between each knot on the baking sheet. Repeat this process with the remaining dough until you have filled your baking sheets.
Bake the knots for 10-12 minutes or until they begin to turn golden brown.
To make the garlic butter, in a small saucepan, melt the butter along with the minced garlic and seasonings. Use a pastry brush to brush the melted butter mixture over your knots before serving.
