Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Tortilla Chips - amount can depend on the size of your air fryer basket and size of chips used.
  • ½ tablespoon Olive Oil
  • ½ lb Ground Beef
  • 1 tablespoon Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese - grated or shredded. See post for alternatives.
  • ½ cup Black Beans - rinsed and drained
  • 1 Tomato - diced
  • 1 Green Onion - chopped or diced.
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper - stem and seeds removed before chopping.
  • 2 tablespoon Sour Cream

Other cold topping (added after air frying) ingredients can include guacamole, cilantro, olives, salsa, and really whatever else you want to add.

Instructions

  • Start by cooking your meat. Preheat a skillet with the olive oil on medium heat. Meanwhile, combine together the ground meat and seasoning in a bowl and then transfer the mixture to the warm skillet and cook the meat until crumbly and browned. Then drain the liquid (fat or grease) from the meat.
  • Prepare your air fryer. Remove the basket from your air fryer and line it with parchment paper so that there is a bit of parchment paper is extended up the sides of the basket. Then give the parchment paper a quick spray with nonstick.
  • Base Layer. Place the tortilla chips on top of the parchment paper so that the edges of the chips touch with little overlap. Then evenly sprinkle the cheese and other warm ingredients (cooked ground beef, black beans, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sliced jalapenos, and green onions ) over the chips.
  • Air fry the ingredients for five minutes and then check to see if the cheese is melted and bubbly. If so, you can remove the basket from the air fryer.
  • Add your cold ingredients (black beans, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sliced jalapenos, and green onions if not already added as a warm ingredient) on top of the nachos and serve.
