Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Pork Ribs - 1 rack with flap
  • Seasonings - such as salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion -sliced
  • 2 teaspoon Garlic - minced
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce - your choice
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika

Instructions

  • Prepare your ribs by first seasoning them with salt and pepper and any optional seasonings. Then preheat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ribs to the skillet and brown the ribs on both sides until well browned. This should take about three to four minutes per side.
Transfer the browned ribs to your slow cooker.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened and fragrant (two to three minutes).
Transfer them to the slow cooker as well.
  • In a small bowl, use a whisk to mix together the barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, dijon mustard, and smoked paprika. Pour this mixture over the pork spare ribs that are in the slow cooker, making sure to coat them evenly.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook the ribs on low for six to eight hours or until tender and can easily separate from the bone.
  • Once the ribs are done, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and transfer them to a serving platter. You can brush additional barbecue sauce over them before serving.
