Hot Honey Sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Then add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Stir in the hot sauce and honey, and season as desired with your salt and pepper to taste. Lastly, let the sauce simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened (about five minutes).
Prepare. Preheat your oven to 400 and prep a rimmed sheet pan (foil should work).
Rub. To make the rub, in a small bowl use a whisk or a fork to combine together the rub ingredients. Place your chicken wings into a large bowl or zip top bag and sprinkle the rub over the chicken, tossing the ingredients until the chicken is evenly coated.
Bake. Transfer your chicken to your prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each wing. Then bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown, carefully flipping the wings midway.
Coat. Transfer your baked chicken wings to a large bowl. Then pour half of the hot honey sauce over the chicken, toss the ingredients, and then repeat with the remaining sauce.
Bake. On the rimmed baking sheet that you used to bake the chicken, place a wire rack. Then place the chicken on the wire rack and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the wings are cooked through and the sauce is caramelized.
Serve. After removing your wings from the oven, let the chicken sit for five minutes on the wire rack before serving.
