Ingredients

  • 42 oz Pie Filling - (2 ) 31 ounce cans, cherry pie filling was used to make my dump cake.
  • 1 Cake Mix - such as (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix used in my dump cake.
  • ½ cup Butter - cut into pieces or pats.

Instructions

  • Prepare your slow cooker as needed for nonstick.
  • Start by pouring the pie filling into the bottom of the slow cooker and using a rubber spatula or similar utensil to evenly spread it out.
  • Next, sprinkle the dry cake mix over the pie filling that is on the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Lastly, place the cubed butter over the cake mix layer so that the cubes are evenly spread out.
  • Place the cover over the slow cooker. Cook on high for two hours or low for four hours.You dump cake is done cooking when the pie filling is bubbling and the cake layer topping turns golden brown.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream on top or on the side.
