What makes Crockpot Candy so good?

Crockpot candy is a mouthwatering good, foolproof, easy to make recipe that is also easily customizable, making it especially popular during the holiday season.

I like that this candy is made with simple ingredients that taste so good together.

What you need to make Crockpot Candy.

    • Peanuts. Dry Roasted Peanuts add a bit of salt to the candy.
    • Unsalted Peanuts. Regular unsalted peanuts.
    • Vanilla Almond Bark. Broken into squares.
    • Chocolate Bark. Semi sweet chocolate chips or German Sweet Chocolate can be used instead of or as part of the bark.
    • Peanut Butter Baking Chips. This adds a nice flavor to the candy along with texture.
    • Optional. Candy Sprinkles are perfect for making this candy a holiday treat.

How to make candy in a slow cooker.

    • Prep Time: 10 minutes .
    • Slow Cook Time: 1 ½-2 hours on low .
    • Servings: 48 pieces .
    • How to Serve: For gift giving or for sharing, you can place your set candy into candy cups.
    • Notes: You will need a rimmed baking sheet for this recipe. Also, this recipe works best when using a large (6-7 quart) slow cooker .

    1. Prepare. It is a good idea to prep your slow cooker with nonstick before adding the ingredients. Also, prepare your ingredients as indicated, including breaking up the bark into pieces.
    2. Combine. Place all of your ingredients into your slow cooker and then cover the slow cooker.
    3. Slow Cook. Slow cook the ingredients on low for one hour.
    4. Stir. Use a rubber spatula or similar item to stir the ingredients, scraping down the sides of the slow cooker as you stir. Then continue to slow cooker on low, stopping to stir every 20 minutes, until the chocolate is fully melted and the peanut are well coated (about an hour total).
    5. Drop. While your candy continues to slow cook, line a rimmed baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper that has been lightly sprayed. Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop the melted candy mixture on to your lined baking sheet. You can add sprinkles to the candy at this point.
    6. Set. Allow the candy to get to room temperature (about a half hour) and than transfer the baking sheet yo your refrigerator for the candy to fully set (about an hour).

Tips for making the best crockpot chocolate candy.

Using good quality chocolate is important for both the taste and the texture of this candy. The white almond bark is also essential as it allows the chocolate to set correctly.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Placing the nuts on the bottom of the slow cooker can help give a buffer that can allow the chocolate to melt more evenly.
    2. If you find that there is a lot of condensation forming on the lid of your slow cooker, try placing a clean kitchen towel between the lid and the slow cooker. This will help keep the chocolate smooth.
    3. While my candy was made with peanuts, you can use the nut(s) of your choice. Also, you can use one kind of peanut (such as roasted) instead of the two kinds used in making my candy.
