My chocolate chip cookies were made in a basic egg-shaped air fryer and turned out amazing. However, if I am making a larger batch, I like to use my larger convection style air fryer.

To make this recipe you can use a liner to air fry your cookies on. You can find a selection of air fryer liners here.

Ingredients needed to make chocolate chip cookies using an air fryer.

    • Flour. All purpose flour was used to make my cookies but, you could probably use an alternative all purpose flour as long as it measures and bakes like regular all purpose flour.
    • Baking soda is used as the leavening agent.
    • Butter Your butter should be softened to room temperature. If you are using unsalted butter, you can add a half teaspoon of salt to your flour.
    • Sugar. Regular granular sugar was used to make my cookies.
    • Brown Sugar. This gives the cookies are darker look and sweeter taste.
    • Vanilla Extract. Added for flavor balance.
    • Eggs. Added to hold the ingredients together and for moisture.
    • Chocolate Chips. Semi sweet chocolate chips are my choice for cookies because of their texture.

Tips for making the best chocolate chip cookies in an air fryer.

Since I like to make just a few cookies at a time, I will refrigerate or freeze the remaining cookie batter to make more cookies later. If you choose to do this, I recommend that you scoop out the cookies first and refrigerate or freeze them and then let the scooped cookies get to room temperature before air frying.

More helpful tips for you to make

    • When placing your cookies into the air fryer, leave plenty of room between them as they will spread and to also allow for the air to circulate around the cookies properly while they bake.
    • Make the cookies in batches instead of overcrowding the basket for best results.
    • Air fryer cookies tend to bake quicker than regular oven baked cookies. Check you cookies frequently for doneness.
    • For chewier cookies, you can refrigerate the dough for 20-30 minutes before air frying.
