Ingredients needed to make potato wedges.
- Potatoes. Starchy potatoes such as russet are preferred.
- Oil . Use a spray oil as this will help the seasonings stick to the wedges. I like a flavorful oil such as olive oil.
- Seasonings. My potatoes were seasoned with dried parsley, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt pepper, and chili powder. Feel free to use the seasonings of your choice.
- Fresh parsley. This is an optional ingredient added to the finished potatoes before serving.

Tips for making the best potato wedges.
When selecting potatoes, select starchy potatoes that are able to hold up to air fryer. Russet potatoes and yukon gold potatoes are my go-to potatoes for this recipe.
More helpful tips for you.
- Start by cleaning the dirt off of your potatoes as they have grown in the ground. I use a potato scrubber for my potatoes. Also, remove any objects that do not belong on the potato skin.
- When slicing your potatoes into wedges, slice them uniformly and about a half inch to one inch thick. This ensures that they will air fry evenly and they cook through without getting mushy in the center.
- Soaking the potatoes for 10-20 minutes in cold water will help remove excess starch and help the wedges get crisp. After soaking your potatoes use a clean kitchen or paper towel to pat them dry as excess moisture will prevent them from crisping.
- When placing the potato wedges in your air fryer basket, evenly spread them out so that they do not overlap as this can have an effect on even baking. It is better to make the wedges in batches than overlap them.
- Halfway through air fryer you can shake the basket or use tongs to turn the wedges to help ensure even cooking and browning.
- Keep an eye on your wedges while they are cooking. Your potato wedges will be done when they are golden brown and crisp on the outside while being tender, like a baked potato, on the inside.
