Ingredients for Making Pizza Pockets in an air fryer.
- Refrigerated Dough. My pockets were made with refrigerated crescent dough. Other refrigerated doughs such as pie crust or biscuit dough can also work.
- Cheese. Mozzarella cheese was used in my pockets but you can really use about any pizza cheese such as Parmesan or a blend.
- Pizza Sauce. You can use a premade sauce in a can or jar.
- Toppings. Mini pepperonis were used in my pockets but, you can use any protein that normally goes on pizza or opt for veggie pizza pocket instead.
- Butter. Melted butter or an oil spray can be used.
- Seasonings. This is optional and as desired.

Can you freeze homemade pizza pockets?
I love the idea of making a bunch of these pockets so that I can save some for a quick snack or meal to enjoy on another day.
Once the pockets have fully cooled, you can wrap each leftover pocket in foil. Place the wrapped pocket(s) in a freezer safe bag, date and label the bag and freeze it for up to a few months. You can then remove the pockets from the foil and heat them up in your air fryer when you are ready to enjoy them.
How to make homemade pizza pockets.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350. Also, place the liner in the basket.
- Lightly flour a clean work surface and carefully unroll your crescent or similar dough on to the surface . You can use your hands or a small rolling pin to press the dough into a rectangle. (If you are using biscuits simple remove them from the container and flatten them out on the surface.)
- Use a knife or pizza wheel cutter to cut the rolled out dough into four equal sized rectangles. Then place the rectangles so that a shorter side is facing you.
- Next, in a large bowl, combine together your filling ingredients (cheese, sauce, toppings..).
- Use a quarter cup scoop or similar item to scoop out the filling ingredients and place them in the center of the bottom half of each of the rectangles .
- Fold the triangle over and press the open edges in place. You can then use a fork to crimp the edges together. Then use a pastry brush to brush on the melted butter.
- Place the pockets onto the basket liner, leaving room between each of the pockets.
- Air fry for 7-10 minutes or until lightly browned, flipping halfway through air frying.
- Let the cooked pockets cool a bit before enjoying.
Expert Tip👉 If your dough is cold just out of the refrigerator and difficult to work with you can let it sit on your counter for up to 15 minutes.
