    What are Coca Cola meatballs?

Coca Cola meatballs are basically meatballs that are cooked in a sauce that has cola in it.

I like how easy this recipe is to make!

Have you tried my recipe for Air Fryer Cornflake Chicken Tenders?

Why we Love Crockpot Meatballs with Coca-Cola.

This recipe is as simple as it gets.
All you need to do to make it is place your ingredients into your slow cooker and set it to cook.

Here is what else we like about this recipe.

    • Using soda is the perfect hack as it adds both moisture and flavor.
    • Meatballs can be served as an appetizer, meal, or used in another recipe such as a sandwich.
    • Slow cooking means that you can just set it to cook and go do something else.
    • This is the perfect idea for parties, tailgates, or potluck gatherings.
    • Personalizing this recipe is as easy as using another soda or adding some sliced onions.
    • Meatballs are almost always a hit when served to a crowd.

Ingredients needed to make meatballs in a crock pot.

The simplicity of this recipe is the convenience of using already prepared ingredients to make it with.

    • Meatballs. Use already cooked and packaged meatballs.
    • Barbecue Sauce. You can use the barbecue sauce of your choice. Sweet Baby Rays sauce was used to make my meatballs.
    • Cola. Use the full sugared version of soda as other versions will not add the same flavor, may have sweeteners that cannot be cooked with, and will not caramelize like the sugared soda.
    • Optional add-ins: Hot sauce, jam, sliced or chopped onions, or even a tablespoon or two of orange juice.

Tips for making the best slow cooker meatballs.

Use frozen already cooked meatballs in this recipe for better results. Frozen meatballs are already cooked and will hold together better.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. My meatballs were cooked in a six quart Crock Pot. If you are using a smaller version, you can cut the ingredients in half or make two batches. (Note that cooking times can vary with this method.)
    2. This recipe is not just for beef meatballs. As long as they are pre-cooked, you can use chicken or turkey meatballs. (Note that cooking times can vary with this method.)
    3. Make this recipe vegan by using vegan meatballs. You should check your other ingredients to assure that they are also vegan. (Note that cooking times can vary with this method.)
    4. Adding other ingredients such as sliced onions, mushrooms, or even a little cooked pasta can turn this recipe into a meal.
    5. Adding a cup or two of jam can really add a nice dimension to this recipe. Bacon jam for example, can turn this idea into something spectacular.
    6. Simply set your slow cooker on warm when serving these meatballs. I would stir them occasionally.
    7. Do you have to use Coke to make this recipe? No. Other sodas, such as Root Beer or Dr. Pepper, can also make an awesome meatball.

How to make Crockpot Coca Cola Meatballs

    Prep Time: 5 Minutes .
Slow Cook Time: 4 Hours .
Servings: makes about 60 meatballs .

    1. Add your frozen meatballs to the bottom of a large (over five quart) slow cooker.
    2. Pour the barbecue sauce over the meatballs and stir. Then pour the cola over the ingredients and stir again.
    3. Cover your slow cooker and cook on low for four to six hours, or on high for two to three hours, stirring occasionally.
    4. These meatballs are best when served warm.

Expert Tip 👉 If your sauce is thin while it is cooking you can try removing the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow some liquid to evaporate. If your sauce is still too thin after slow cooking, whisk together cornstarch with a little water (one tablespoon to two tablespoons of water) and then stir the mixture into the ingredients cooking for another 10-15 minutes or until thickened.

How to Store Coca Cola Meatballs
