Ingredients needed to make slow cooker crock pot ribs.

    • Ribs. Pork ribs were used to make my ribs. The flap was left on the ribs because it helps to keep the ribs together and keep moisture in when slow cooked.
    • Seasonings. Salt and pepper were used to season my ribs to taste.
    • Olive Oil. This is used to prepare the ribs as they will need some precooking to get them ready for the slow cooker.
    • Onion. Use a large onion that has been sliced.
    • Garlic. The garlic should be minced.
    • Barbecue Sauce. You can use the barbecue sauce of your choice.
    • Honey. Added for a sweet balance.
    • Soy Sauce. Used for a flavor balance.
    • Dijon Mustard. Adds a tangy and sharp flavor with a touch of spice
    • Paprika. A small amount of smoked paprika helps give this barbecue flavor.
    • Optional- chili flakes for a bit of heat.

Tips for making the best slow cooker ribs.

When selecting ribs, it is best to select high-quality pork spare ribs with flap to ensure the best flavor and texture. Look for ribs that are well-marbled and have plenty of meat on them.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Before cooking, you can trim any excess fat from the ribs. This will help prevent them from becoming too greasy during the cooking process.
    2. We are browning the ribs, before placing them into the slow cooker, to add an extra depth of flavor to the dish. Make sure to brown the ribs well on all sides for the best results.
    3. Slow cooking the ribs on low heat for an extended period of time because allows them to become incredibly tender and juicy. Resist the temptation to turn the heat up to high heat, as this can result in tough, dry ribs
    4. Using a baster to baste your ribs with additional barbecue sauce during the last hour of cooking can add an extra flavor and moisture.
    5. Allow your cooked ribs to rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help to redistribute the juices throughout the meat, ensuring that each bite is juicy and flavorful.
