Ingredients needed to make Air Fryer Fried Pickles
- Dill Pickles. Select dill pickle chips that are of a similar size and are intact. Thicker pickle chips tend to hold up better. Pickle chips from a jar should be drained.
- Eggs. Use room temperature eggs as they will need to be whisked.
- Flour. Wheat flour was used to make my pickles chips. The flour helps to make that crispy crust.
- Panko Crumbs. While regular bread crumbs could work in this recipe, panko does a batter job.
- Seasonings. The seasonings used to make my chips were rub seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Tips for making the best pickle chips.
My pickle chips were made with regular jarred pickle chips. You can however simply slice your own pickles (use firm ones as they are more sturdy).
Here are some more helpful tips.
- When prepping your fryer basket for nonstick, you should first take it out of the air fryer before spraying it with any nonstick.
- It is always best to use an oil spray rather than a baking spray when it comes to your air fryer.
- Place the chips in your fryer basket leaving enough room between the chips for the air to circulate. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make this recipe in batches.
- This recipe really works best when your pickles have been well drained and patted dry. This is not a step to skip.
- When dipping your pickle chips in the bowls for breading, shake or tap the pickles chips over the bowl to remove any excess.
- While two forks can be used to dip your pickle chips, you can use dipping tools to do the trick.

- Dip the first pickle in the egg bowl (tapping the excess egg off as needed), then the flour bowl (fully covered and excess shaked off), and lastly in the panko to coat with the crumbs.
- You can spray the chip with sprayed oil to help it crispen up.
- Place the first pickle into your fryer basket and repeat until the basket is full with the pickles not touching one another.
- Air fry at 375 for four minutes, flip the chips, and continue to air fry until crispy (about eight minutes total).
- Let the chips cool for a few minutes before serving.
Expert Tip 👉 Use a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to pat your pickle chips dry before adding the other ingredients. This will help the ingredients stick to the pickles better.
How to store leftover pickle chips.
Leftover pickle chips should be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, these chips should keep for up to a few days when refrigerated. You can reheat them in your air fryer.
