    What is Buffalo Ranch?

Often enjoyed with chicken, buffalo ranch is a combination of spicy and tangy red buffalo sauce balanced by a creamy and herby white ranch dressing.

I like how easy it is to get the buffalo ranch flavor in sheet pan potatoes.

Have you tried my Air Fryer Cornflake Chicken Tenders?

That tasty chicken recipe is nicely crispen on the outside thanks to Cornflakes. Both this recipe for potatoes and that recipe for chicken would go nicely when served together.

To make this recipe you will need Buffalo Seasoning.
You can find a selection of buffalo seasonings here.

Ingredients needed to make buffalo potatoes.

    • Potatoes. Russet or Yukon gold work well in this recipe because of their starch content. Peel or scrub your potatoes first. Then slice them into 1- 1 ½" cubes.
    • Cooking Spray or Oil. My potatoes were made with a buttery flavored cooking spray. However, an oil spray (such as olive oil) will also work.
    • Ranch Seasoning. I have a Homemade Ranch Seasoning Recipe here or you can use a ranch seasoning packet.
    • Buffalo Seasoning. Select the buffalo seasoning of your choice as some come with added heat.

Tips for making the best buffalo ranch potatoes.

Using a potato that is higher in starch is recommended as they will hold up better when cubed and baked. Russet, Idaho and Yukon gold potatoes are good choices.

    1. I like to use potatoes with the skin still on. However, I also soak and scrub them first.
    2. Soaking potatoes in cold water (10-15 minutes) after cutting them up and before baking them can help them achieve that perfect balance of a crisp outside with a meaty inside.
    3. Placing your baking pan into the oven to heat up before adding the potatoes can help get the potatoes even more crisp.
    4. Use a large bowl to toss your potatoes with the seasoning. Make sure that you toss well so that your potatoes are evenly coated with seasoning before baking.
    5. To get your potato cubes evenly baked you will need to flip or stir them at least once while baking.
    6. Use a rimmed baking sheet to prevent the potatoes from falling while you flip them during baking.

    4. Transfer your potatoes to your prepared baking sheet, spreading them out evenly so that they do not overlap one another.
    5. You can then bake your potatoes for 40-45 minutes, or until they are crisp and golden brown, flipping midway through baking.
    6. Serve these potatoes as is or sprinkle cheese, bacon bits, or ranch dressing on top.

Expert Tip 👉 These potatoes can be air fried at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.

How to store oven baked potato bites.

Once they have fully cooled, you can store your potato bites in an airtight container or zip top bag. When properly stored, these potatoes should keep for about four to five days refrigerated or up to a few months when frozen. You can heat them up in an oven or air fryer and enjoy them again!
