Tips for making the best Mississippi Chicken.

Chicken breasts were used to make my Mississippi chicken. You can alternatively make this with thigh meat however, cooking time may vary.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. A large crockpot was used to make my chicken. Depending on size of your slow cooker, you may need to adjust the ingredients to fit.
    2. Note the with the gravy and ranch seasoning, you will need just dry mix, not the needed water or other ingredients.
    3. You can prep your slow cooker with nonstick or use a slow cooker liner for easier clean up in this recipe.
    4. Shredding chicken can be easily done by using two forks. You can make this even easier to do by using a mixer to shred.
    5. If you are having trouble shredding your chicken it may not be done cooking.
    6. Not a fan of shredded chicken? You can just break the chicken into chunks or use chicken that has been cut into pieces before placing it into your slow cooker.

    How to store Mississippi Chicken.

Once your chicken has fully cooled, it should be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, this chicken should keep for a couple of days refrigerated or frozen for up to a few months. I would store my frozen chicken without the peppers and add new peppers while reheating.
