Ingredients

  • 2½ lbs Shoulder London Broil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Onion --Thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic --Freshly minced

Slider Buns such as Hawaiian rolls, potato rolls, brioche slider buns, or classic dinner rolls all work well Optional toppings: sauteed peppers and onions, provolone or cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, or horseradish mayo

Instructions

  • Prepare. Pat the London broil dry with clean paper towels. Then season all sides of the meat evenly with the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Sear. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef until browned all over, (about 2–3 minutes per side) . (This step is optional but adds extra flavor.)
  • Layer. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic on the bottom of the slow cooker. Layer the beef on top and then pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Slow Cook. Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 8 hours or High for 4–5 hours, until the beef is fork-tender and shreds easily. Note that cooking low and slow is preferred if you have the time.
  • Shred Transfer the slow cooked beef to a clean cutting board or large bowl. Shred the beef using two forks. Then return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir it into the cooking juices. Let the shredded beef sit in the slow cooker juices for 5–10 minutes to absorb the flavorful liquid.
  • Serve. Spoon the shredded beef onto slider buns and serve warm with your favorite toppings.
