Tips for making the best ham and and cheese sliders.

Black forest deli ham was used to make my sliders. You can however use leftover ham (such as from a holiday dinner) or another kind of ham.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Because the rolls are smaller than the usual sandwich bread, it is best to use ham that is thinly sliced or shaved.
    2. Swiss cheese is usually used in making this kind of recipe. Other cheeses that could work include mozzarella, monterey jack, or a shredded blend.
    3. Mayonnaise and mustard are used to coat the dry bread with. You can use as much as you need of these ingredients.
    4. Hawaiian style rolls are the perfect size and texture that makes this recipe work. Regular buns or rolls may not have the texture and size that makes this recipe good.
    5. When preparing your rolls, make sure that you do not separate the rolls. Instead, remove the rolls as a whole from the packaging and then slice the whole horizontally.
    6. Not a fan of ham? This recipe works well with other deli style meats such as turkey ham, salami, or even roast beef.

How to make Ham and Cheese Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls

    Prep Time: 15 minutes .
    Bake Time: 10-12 minutes .
    Servings: 12 .

    1. Prepare. Preheat your oven to 350. Prep a 9X13 baking dish for nonstick. Parchment paper works well in this recipe.
    2. Bread. Remove the rolls from the packaging whole taking care to not separate them. Then slice the rolls horizontally in half. Place the bottom half of the rolls into your prepared baking dish.
    3. Mayo. In a small bowl, use a whisk or a fork to combine together your mayonnaise and mustard. Use a butter knife or small spatula to evenly spread the mixture over the rolls in the baking dish.
    4. Layer. Place your cheese slices over the rolls and then top the cheese slices with the ham slices.
    5. Top. Place the top half over the rolls on top of the ingredients, again without breaking up the individual rolls.
    6. Topping. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt your butter, stopping to stir every 30 seconds, until melted. Then carefully use a whisk or a fork to mix in the worcestershire sauce and the seasoning. Lastly, use a pastry brush to brush this topping over the tops of the rolls.
    7. Set. Loosely cover the rolls with foil and let them sit for five minutes for the buttery topping to seep into the rolls tops.
    8. Bake. Bake your sliders for 10 minutes with the foil on so that the cheese can get soft and gooey. Carefully remove the foil. If the tops are not golden brown you can continue to bake for a couple of minutes so that the tops turn golden brown and a bit crisp.
    9. Serve. Serve your sliders warm.

Expert Tip👉 For best results, use a large bread or serrated knife when you slice your rolls. Placing one hand on top of the rolls while using the other had to slice can help with even slicing.
