    Use fresh broccoli that has been blanched. This will ensure that it can hold on to its structure so that it is mostly crisp and adds a vibrant color. .

    1. To blanch the broccoli, simply boil it for two and and half to three minutes and then quickly transfer it to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking.
    2. Fresh broccoli is preferred in this recipe however, you can get away with frozen broccoli if needed. The frozen broccoli should first be thawed and patted dry to remove the excess liquid.
    3. Brown sugar is used in this recipe for a sweet balance. You can alternatively use honey (one to two tablespoons).
    4. When cooking your beef, make sure that you cook it thoroughly (no longer red and internal temperature of 160°F). You can drain the beef to remove any fat that you do not want in your meal.
