- Refrigerated Biscuit Dough. My monkey bread was made with a 7.5 ounce 10 count can.
- Sugar. Use granulated white sugar.
- Ground Cinnamon. Added for flavor.
- Butter. Added for that buttery flavor in the topping. The butter should be melted.
- Brown Sugar. Combined with the melted butter for the topping. The brown sugar should be packed.

Tips for making the best monkey bread muffins.
When selecting biscuits, you can actually use any kind of biscuit. However, my monkey bread was made using buttermilk biscuits.
More helpful tips for you.
- Depending on the size of your air fryer you may not be able to fit all of your muffins into the basket. If this happens, simply make your muffins in batches.
- When you coat your bread pieces, use a bag that can seal tightly. You probably do not want the contents of the bag to escape.
- Depending on the size of your air fryer you may not be able to fit all of your muffins into the basket. If this happens, simply make your muffins in batches.
- These muffins are air fried in individual sized jumbo silicone muffin liners. Your liners should be air fryer safe.
- Preheating your air fryer can help the muffins get more evenly golden.
- This recipe can be made in a regular oven. Simple use a regular muffin pan and bake the muffins at 350 for about 10 minutes.
How to make Air Fryer Monkey Bread Muffins
Prep time: 10 minutes.
Air fry time: 10 minutes per batch.
Servings: 6.
- Remove the biscuits from the cans, separate them, and then cut each biscuit into quarters. Also, prep your jumbo silicone muffin liners with a bit of nonstick spray for an easy clean up
- Combine together the granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon in a large zip top bag.
- Place a quarter of the biscuit pieces into the bag (if you are using a can with 10 biscuits, that will be 10 pieces per can). Seal the bag, toss the ingredients together.
- Remove the pieces from the bag and then place the coated biscuit pieces on to the prepared liners to form muffins. You can gently press the pieces in place to help them stick together.
- When all of the pieces of biscuit dough that can fit on to your liners have been coated and placed into the liners, place the filled liners into the air fryer basket.
- Use a fork or a whisk to combine together the melted butter with the brown sugar. Then drizzle the butter and brown sugar mixture over the muffins, reserving half of the melted butter mixture for use after air frying.
- Allow the muffins to sit for three minutes so that the mixture can seep into the muffins. Meanwhile, you can preheat your air fryer to 350.
- Air fry the muffins for 10 minutes or until the tops are crispy on the outside and the center appears to be fully baked. Allow the air fried muffins to cool for before removing them from the liners.
- Drizzle the remaining brown sugar and butter mixture over the muffins before serving.
Expert Tip👉 You can add topping ingredients such as chopped nuts, crushed pretzels, or candy sprinkles to make these muffins even more fun! Add the toppings just after air frying.
How to store monkey bread muffins.
Once the muffins have fully cooled they can be stored in an airtight container or wrapped well. When properly stored, these muffins should keep for up to a few days at room temperature or refrigerated for up to five days. These muffins can also be frozen for up to a couple of months.
