Ingredients needed to make copycat Red Lobster biscuits.

    For the biscuits.

    • Flour. All purpose flour was used to make my biscuits. If you want to try an alternative all purpose flour such as gluten free all purpose flour, make sure that it measures like regular all purpose flour.
    • Baking Powder and Baking Soda. Both are used for leavening to make these biscuits airy.
    • Garlic Powder. For that hint of a garlic flavor.
    • Butter. If you are using unsalted butter, add a teaspoon of salt to your flour. Your butter should be cold and cut into cubes.
    • Parsley. You can omit the parsley if you just want it on your topping.
    • Buttermilk. This works with the leaveners to add air to these biscuits as well as providing flavor and moisture to the biscuits.

    For the topping.

    • Butter. This butter should be melted.
    • Dried Parsley Also optional.
    • Garlic Powder or garlic salt for salty touch.

Tips for making the best Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

Cheddar cheese is an important part of these biscuits as it adds flavor and can help the ingredients stick together. While I am a fan of the more sharp cheddars, you can use use the cheddar or combination of cheddars of your choice.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Using freshly grated cheddar cheese is preferred in this recipe. This is because sometimes store bought grated cheese can have anti-caking agents which can affect the browning of the cheese.
    2. Using cold butter will help to make these biscuits nice and flaky.
    3. Refrigerating the dough before air frying can also help hold the biscuits together in the air fryer.
    4. While this is an optional step, serving these biscuits with the melted butter topping can make these biscuits even enjoyable.
    5. What kind of add-ins can you add to cheddar biscuits? Cooked bacon bits, chopped peppers, or sliced (cooked) sausages are ideas.
    6. Can you make this recipe using a baking mix? Most baking mixes have the dry ingredients that can be used in place of the dry ingredients in this recipe.

How to make Air Fryer Cheddar Bay Biscuits

    Prep Time: 15 minutes .
Air Fry Time: 6-8 minutes per batch .
Servings: Yields 18-20 biscuits depending on size .

    1. In a mixing bowl, use a whisk to combine together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and garlic (and optional salt).
    2. Add the butter cubes to the bowl and beat the ingredients until a crumbly mixture forms. You can do this by hand using a pastry cutter as well.
    3. Outfit your mixer with a paddle attachment and then beat in the buttermilk until just combined. Then use a rubber spatula to fold in the grated cheese and the parsley.
    4. Remove the basket from your air fryer and spray with oil or use the prep method of your choice. Then preheat the air fryer to 380.
    5. Use a large cookie scoop (or ice cream scoop for large biscuits) to scoop out the dough and then place the scoops into your air fryer, leaving space between the biscuits for the warm air to circulate. You can brush butter over the biscuits or spray them with oil or butter at this time as well.
    6. Air fry the biscuits for six to eight minutes or until golden brown. While your biscuits are airfrying you can whisk together the topping ingredients.
    7. Carefully remove baked the biscuits from the air fryer and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Then use a pastry brush to brush them with the topping (melted butter, parsley, and garlic).

Expert Tip👉 This recipe can be prepared in advance and then air fried later. Simply form the biscuits on a baking sheet, freeze the baking sheet, and then once the biscuits are frozen you can remove them from the sheet, place them into a zip top bag and freeze, and then air fry them when you want to.
