Tips for making the best crispy tofu in an air fryer.
Extra firm tofu that has not been pressed works great in this recipe. You should however, lightly pat the tofu with clean paper or kitchen towels to remove excess water.

- Adding nutritional yeast to this recipe will help give the tofu a cheesy flavor. This is optional but, okay to do.
- Opt for a flavorful oil such as avocado or olive oil. You can find oil sprayers here.
- When spraying the oil on to the tofu, make sure that the tofu pieces are well covered. This will help the tofu get crisp in your air fryer.
- It is best to arrange your tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between the cubes. The air flow will allow your tofu to evenly cook and get crisp. You may need to make this recipe in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- I like to keep an eye on my tofu after 10 minutes of air frying to make sure that the tofu is evenly cooking and not burning.

- Add the tofu to the bowl and toss so that the tofu pieces are all evenly covered with the dry ingredients.
- Place the tofu into your air fryer basket, evenly spread apart in a single layer.
- Air fry the tofu for seven minutes and then carefully toss the ingredients.
- Continue to air fry until crisp (8-10 minutes), tossing every five minutes.
Expert Tip 👉 Instead of using the bowl method of coating your tofu, you can use a zip top bag instead. Simply place the tofu and seasonings into the bag, seal it, and toss to coat.
How to store air fried tofu cubes.
This air fried tofu is best when served fresh. If you need to store any leftovers, store them in an airtight container and refrigerated for up to three days.
