Tips for making the best air fried pecan pie.
Using a store bought refrigerated pie crust makes this recipe even easier to make. Your pie crust should be cold yet, at a temperature that will allow you to crimp the edges without cracking it.
More helpful tips for you.
- Using fork to poke holes in the crust is not essential however, doing so can help the steam escape and also bake the crust evenly.
- Using a homemade pie crust can also work as long as it is a basic crust that is cold.
- Vanilla extract is used in this recipe. Feel free to use another extract, such as maple extract, instead.
- My pie was made in a large air fryer. If you are using a smaller air fryer that may not hold a pie pan, you can try using small or mini-pans instead.
- Foil is used to cover the pie while air frying to help the pie bake more evenly. When you place the foil on the pie you can tuck the edges around the pie pan to keep it from rising up or flying around while baking.
- Allow the pie to set in place before cutting into slices.
How to make Air Fryer Pecan Pie
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Air Fry Time: 30 minutes
Servings 8 .
- Crust. Place your pie crust into your pie pan and use your hands to crimp the edges of the crust. I like to give my pan a quick spray with nonstick first. Then air fry the crust at 350 for three minutes.
- Filling. In a mixing bowl, combine together the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Then use a rubber spatula or similar item to fold or mix in the pecans.
- Pie. Transfer the filling to your crust, filling the crust to about a half inch from the top to not overfill it. Then cover the pie with aluminum foil, tucking in the edges as needed.
- Air Fry. Air fry your pie for 25 minutes at 350. Then remove the foil and air fry for another five minutes or until the top of the pie and crust turn golden brown.
- Set. Remove your pie from the air fryer and allow it to cool before slicing and serving. You can place it on a cooling rack to help it cool.
Expert Tip 👉 Your pie is done air frying when the edges crust turn golden brown. The filling may still be somewhat jiggly in the center but, it will set while the pie cools.
How to store pecan pie.
Once your pie has fully cooled, it should keep for up to four days when refrigerated and loosely wrapped in foil or plastic wrap. It can also be frozen for up to a few months, tightly wrapped, and thawed overnight in your refrigerator before serving.
