Ingredients needed to make popper dip.
- Cream Cheese. For creamier dip, use a full fat cream cheese. Your cream cheese should be cut into cubes and softened to room temperature.
- Mayonnaise. Added to make this dip more creamy.
- Cheddar Cheese. I like a sharp cheddar for this recipe. The cheese should be shredded for easier blending.
- Mozzarella Cheese Added to give this dip a 'gooey' element. This cheese should also be shredded.
- Parmesan Cheese. Use grated parmesan.
- Jalapenos Stems and seeds (unless you are more daring than I am) and then diced into small pieces.
- Bacon. Day old crumbled up bacon is perfect here. Bacon adds both flavor and a texture element to this dip.
- Seasonings. My dip was made with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Optional Add Ins- Cooked corn, chilis, or a bit of hot sauce.

More helpful tips for you.
- It is a good idea to prep your pot for nonstick as we are using plenty of cheese in this recipe and clean up is a bore. You can spray your pot with nonstick or use a liner.
- I like to wear gloves when working with jalapenos. This is an especially good idea if you have a paper cut or need to rub your eyes at some point.
- Stirring the dip while it is slow cooking is also a good idea. I like to stir about every half hour or so to help blend the melting cheeses and keep them from sticking to the pot.
- It is up to you whether or not to include the pepper seeds in your dip. Removing all or some of the seeds can make your dip a more mild popper dip.
- Make this recipe vegetarian. Omit the bacon or stir in a vegan bacon to the warm dip.
- Do you have to use the cheddar and mozzarella cheese cheeses in this recipe? You are welcome to use the cheeses of your choice. Just make sure that they are shredded and that you use the same total amount of cheese as the recipe states in order to keep everything in balance.
