What you need to make pecan dump cake.

    • Eggs. Used as binder for the bottom layer.
    • Brown Sugar. Adds a molasses element that resembles pecan pie.
    • Caramel Sauce. For simplicity, caramel sauce in a jar is used for that sweet flavor that works so well with the pecans.
    • Butter. Melted butter gives this dump cake a perfect buttery flavor. Melted butter is used for both the filling and topping. Unsalted is preferred.
    • Pecans. Use pecan halves like you would in a pie.
    • Cake Mix. White cake mix was used in my cake but, yellow cake mix also works well.

Use a cake mix that is around 15.25 ounces in size (you will not need the ingredients that are needed to actually make the cake(. If the cake mix seems overly lumpy you can break up the lumps using a whisk.
