- Milk. Use a full fat milk for a creamier sauce.
- Flour. Used as a thickener for the sauce.
- Butter. Adds flavor and moisture to the sauce.

Tips for making the best turkey pot pie.
Any turkey meat (light or dark) should work in this recipe. You can also make this recipe with another leftover poultry such as chicken (evan a rotisserie chicken).

- My pot pie was made with peas and carrots. About any small vegetable, such as corn, could also work in this recipe.
- You can make this recipe lower in sodium using low sodium broth.
- Prepare this pot pie ahead of time. Then refrigerate it covered and bake it up to a day away.
- Or, you can freeze this for up to a couple of months. Allow the cpot pie to get to room temperature before baking
- Keep an eye on your casserole while it is baking to make sure that it is not overbaked. Your casserole is done when the filling is bubbly.
- Let your casserole rest for a few minutes after taking out of the oven. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the crust to fully set.
How to Make Leftover Turkey Pot Pie with Stuffing Crust.
Prep Time: 20 minutes .
Bake Time: 40 minutes .

- Prep. Prep a 9X13" baking dish well for nonstick. Also, preheat your oven to 375.
- Roux. Start by melting your butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter has melted you can whisk in your flour and continue to cook for another minute. Slowly add the broth and then the milk into the saucepan, whisking the ingredients until smooth. Then whisk in your seasonings and continue to cook until thickened (about five minutes), whisking occasionally.
- Combine. Remove the saucepan from the oven and stir in your turkey and vegetables, mixing until well combined. Then transfer the mixture to your prepared baking dish, evenly spreading it out.
- Crust. To make the crust, combine together your stuffing with your beaten egg in a mixing bowl. Then evenly spread the mixture over the ingredients in the baking dish, taking care to not press the topping through the mixture.
- Bake. Bake your pot pie for 35-40 minutes or until the crust layer turns golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Set. Let the pot pie sit for a few minutes before serving so that it can set.
Expert Tip 👉 If the top of your pot pie seems to be browning too quickly you can loosely cover it with foil for the remainder of the cooking time.
How to Store Turkey Pot Pie.
Once the pot pie has fully cooled, you can store it in an airtight container. When properly stored, pot pie should keep for up to four days when refrigerated or up to a few months when frozen.
