- Prep. Preheat your oven to 350. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.
- Prepare the crunchy elements for baking. Place the cereal and the pretzels in a large mixing bowl. In a small bowl, use a whisk to combine together the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Then Pour half of the mixture from the small bowl over the ingredients in the large bowl and toss the ingredients and then repeat with the remaining butter mixture until the crunchy ingredients are all covered with the with the ingredients from the small bowl.
- Bake. Evenly spread the tossed ingredients in your rimmed baking sheet. Then bake for 10 minutes, flip and mix the ingredients, and continue to bake until the cereal begins to brown (about 10 more minutes).
- Finish making the snack mix. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, stir the ingredients breaking up chunks as needed, and then allow the mix to cool. Once it has fully cooled you can transfer it to a large bowl and toss in the remaining ingredients before serving.
Expert Tip 👉 It can take up to an hour for the snack mix to fully cool. You can then toss in the other ingredients and store the mix once it has cooled.
How to Store Chex Snack Mix.
Once it has fully cooled, Chex Snack Mix can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, the mix should keep for up to a week at room temperature or up to a few months when frozen (add the pumpkins after thawing).
