- Granny Smith Apples My apples were peeled. The apples should be cut into slices (16 for each of my apples).
- Pumpkin Pie Spice. Gives these apples that fall flavor.
- Ground Cinnamon. This is divided.

- Eggs. This is used to hold the coating on to the apples.
- Vanilla Extract. For a bit of flavor balance.

Tips for making the best apple fries.
Granny Smith apples hold up well when baked and offer a nice flavor balance to the ingredients used in coating them. If you decide to use another kind of apple, opt for firm apples that can be baked with such as Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, or Fuji.
More helpful tips for you.
- My apple were peeled before coring and slicing them. You can leave your skin on your apples but, they should be clean.
- When you slice your apples, make sure that they are sliced into a uniform size so that they will air fry informally and at the same time.
- Place your apple slices into your air fryer and make sure that they are not overlapping one another so that there is room between them for the warm air to circulate.
- Start checking the apples at the six-minute mark. Air fry times can vary depending on the thickness of the slices and the type of apple.
- Serve the apples warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert. You can also drizzle some caramel sauce or sprinkle some chopped nuts for added texture and flavor.

How to make Air Fryer Pumpkin Spice Apple Fries
Prep time 15 minutes:
Air Fry Time: 12-14 minutes per batch. .
Servings: 64, depending on the size of your apples and how they are cut. .
- Prep. If you have not done so, peel, core, and slice your apples into wedges that are about ¼-1/2" thick. My apples made 16 wedge slices each. Also, prep your air fryer for nonstick using the method of your choice.
- Dredging Station. You will need two shallow bowls for dredging your apples. In the first bowl, use a whisk or a fork to combine together the pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon (½ tablespoon), and flour. For the second bowl, whisk together the egg with the vanilla extract. Image 2.
- Dredge. Use a fork to dip each of the edges into the flour mixture, gently tap off the extra flour and dip the apple into the egg to coat the apple. Gently tap the excess egg off of the apple and dredge the apple into the flour mixture again, tapping off the excess. Then place the apple slice into your air fryer and repeat this process until your fryer basket is full with space between the apples.
- Air Fry. You can spray your apple with oil to help them get crisp. Then air fry your apples at 320 for six minutes. Toss the apples and air fry for another four to six minutes or until the are tender and golden brown. Image 3.
- Prepare the topping. While the apples are air frying, place the sugar along with the remaining cinnamon into a large zip top bag.
- Finish making the apples. When your apples are done air frying, let them sit for about two minutes at room temperature and then transfer them to the zip top bag. Seal the bag and toss the apples so that they are all coated with the cinnamon sugar.
Expert Tip 👉 Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make this recipe in batches. Also, since air fryers can differ, air fry times can differ as well.
How to store air fried apple fries.
Once they have been fully cooled, you can store any leftovers in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to three days. Then reheat the apples in your air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for two to three minutes to regain some crispness.
