Ingredients needed to make a baked potato in an air fryer.

    • Potatoes. Russet potatoes were used to air fry my potatoes. Your potato should be cleaned using the method of your choice (such as running water) and then dried.
    • Olive Oil. Another oil, such as avocado oil, can be used instead.
    • Salt. Kosher salt is used to salt the potato skin.
    • Optional Toppings: Butter, Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese, Bacon Bits, Chili, and Chopped Green Onion.

Tips for making the best air fried baked potato.

The best potatoes to use in this recipe have a higher starch content that can allow them to become crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Russet potatoes are the best ones to use however, Yukon gold are an all purpose potato that can work in this recipe as well.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Olive oil helps the skin on the potato crisp and helps the salt stick. Feel free to use your favorite neutral cooking oil.
    2. Kosher salt creates that crisp salty potato skin that we all love! For best results, use a course sale such as kosher salt or sea salt, and not regular table salt.
    3. I like to soak my potatoes and then scrub off the excess dirt before air frying them. Be sure to pay your potatoes dry before applying the oil and sal.
    4. If you are air frying more than one potato time, leave plenty of room between them in the air fryer. This will allow for the air to circulate around the potatoes so that they can evenly cook
    5. Use a fork to poke several holes in the potato before placing it into your air fryer basket to allow the steam to escape while air frying.
    6. Lastly, allow the potato to cool a bit before slicing as it will be hot inside and there will be steam.
