Tips for making the best Crab and Shrimp dip

The ease of making this recipe really has to do with the convenience of the canned crab and packaged shrimp. For a better tasting dip you can use fresh or high-quality crab and shrimp. Just make sure that you are removing the excess liquid by patting it dry with clean paper towels.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Use a full fat cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Colby Jack, and sour cream in this recipe. This is for optimal texture and quality of the dip.
    2. Shredding your own fresh cheese is preferred. Pre-shredded cheese is usually coated with starches to prevent clumping, which can result in a less creamy and more gritty dip when heated.
    3. This dip recipe can be prepared in advance. Simply assemble the dip (first four steps) and cover and refrigerate the dip. Let the dip sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before placing it into your oven to bake.
