- Ground Beef. Your ground beef should be pre-cooked and drained before adding it to your nachos.
- Black Beans. Rinse your beans in cold water and allow them to drain.
- Tomatoes. Canned diced tomatoes work fine however, drain the excess liquid as it can make your nachos soggy.
- Black Olives. Use sliced black olives.
- Pickled Jalapeño Slices They are already sliced and ready to go.
- Red Onion. Diced into small pieces.
- Shredded Cheeses. (medium) Cheddar and Monterey Jack were both used to make my nachos.
- Sour Cream. You can find squeezable sour cream here.
- Cilantro. Used as garnish.
Cheese Sauce
- Butter. Unsalted butter is preferred.
- Flour. Regular all purpose flour.
- Milk. Use a full fat milk for a creamy cheese sauce.
- Cheddar Cheese. Your cheese should be shredded. Sharp or extra sharp will give the sauce even more flavor.
- Seasonings. Such as salt, pepper, or one of these seasonings.

Tips for making the best sheet pan nachos.
When selecting tortilla chips, look for larger chips that are sturdy as they will hold up better when layered with other ingredients. Large round tortilla chips are usually a good choice for nachos.

- When you pre-cook your beef, you can use a homemade taco seasoning, Mexican Fiesta Seasoning, or Southwest Seasoning . These seasonings can also be sprinkled on top of your nachos before serving.
- Using canned tomatoes that are already diced can make this recipe even easier to make. For extra flavor, look for something such as Rotel diced tomatoes which come in many varieties.
- Anything that needs to be drained, such as diced tomatoes or beans, should be well drained before adding them to your nachos. This is because and added liquid can make your nachos soggy.

- Prepare. Line a rimmed baking (with parchment paper, foil, or a baking mat) and then give that a spray with nonstick or oil and evenly place your chips over that. Also, preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Sauce. To make your cheese sauce, start by melting your butter in a saucepan over medium heat and then add the flour to the saucepan and whisk the ingredients constantly to create a roux (about one to two minutes for it to become a light golden color). Gradually pour milk into the saucepan while continuing to whisk, and cook until the mixture thickens (two to three minutes). Reduce the heat to low and whisk in your remaining ingredients (cheese and seasonings). When the cheese has melted you can carefully pour your sauce over the chips.
- Layer.Layer the cheese sauce with the black beans, diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, pickled jalapeño slices, and diced red onion evenly over the nachos.
- Beef. Layer the ingredients with your cooked ground beef and then sprinkle the cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack on top.
- Bake. Place your sheet pan into your oven and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the nachos are heated through (about five to ten minutes).
- Drizzle. Allow the nachos to cool for a couple of minutes and then drizzle your sour cream on top and serve.
Expert Tip 👉 Sheet pan nachos are commonly served with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream!
How to store leftover nachos.
Baked nachos are best when served warm out of the oven. Because cheese sauce was used in this recipe, these nachos are not the best for storing as the chips will get soggy. You can however store the individual ingredients, according to the packaging, and make a fresh batch within a few days.
