Slow Cooker Country Style Pork Chops

    • Prep Time 10 Minutes .
    • Slow Cook Time High for 3-4 hours (not recommended) or Low for 4-6 hours.
    • Servings 4 .
    • How to serve : Serve warm with gravy on top. This recipe goes great with potatoes, rise, or noodles on the side.
    • Notes: You will need a large slow cooker or Crockpot (slow cooker), mixing bowl, whisk, and large wooden or similar spoon.

    1. Prepare. You can prep your slow cooker with nonstick or a liner. Also, gather your ingredients.
    2. Seasonings In a small bowl, use a whisk to combine together your seasonings ( salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder).
    3. Pork. I like to use a clean paper towel to wipe off any excess liquid etc on the chops first. This will help allow the other ingredients to penetrate the chops as well. Then use the ingredients from the bowl in the last step to season the chops. Lastly, place the pork chops into your slow cooker, trying not to overlap the pork chops.
    4. Wet Ingredients. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the condensed soup and broth. Pour this mixture over the pork chops in the slow cooker.
    5. Slow cook Cover the pork chops and slow cook for six hour or until the pork chops are tender and done.

    3. Generally speaking, pork is done cooking when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), followed by a 3-minute rest.

    FAQ

    .

    • Can I use bone-in pork chops instead of boneless?
Yes, however, bone-in chops might require slightly longer cooking time to reach the desired tenderness.
    • Can I cook the pork chops on high instead of low?
Yes, but, for optimal tenderness and flavor, I would slow cook on low.
    • How can I thicken my gravy?
There are two good ways to thicken the gravy (or sauce). The easiest method is to remove the lid from your slow cooker during the last 15-30 minutes of slow cooking to allow some of the liquid to evaporate. The other option is to stir in a slurry (one tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with two tablespoons of water) and slow cook until you reach your desired texture.

    Variations.

    • To Make Creamy Garlic Pork Chops, simple stir in two to three minced garlic cloves.
    • For spicy pork chops you can add red pepper flakes and additional pepper.
    • For extra flavor, you can sear the pork chops in a hot skillet before placing them in the crockpot.
