Ingredients needed to make chocolate muffins in an air fryer.
- Flour. Your flour should be measured and leveled.
- Baking Powder and Baking Soda . The leavening agents used to help make these muffins fluffy.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder. Dutch process could be used for a milder flavor. However, I suggest using basic unsweetened cocoa powder for best results.
- Butter. Your butter should be melted and cooled. If you are using unsalted butter, you can add a half teaspoon of salt to the flour.
- Sugar. Use a granular sugar in this recipe.
- Eggs. The eggs should be at room temperature for optimal blending.
- Milk. This is added for moisture. Use a full fat for the best moisture retention in these muffins.
- Vanilla Extract. Added for flavor balance.
- Chocolate Chips. Semi sweet, milk chocolate, or a combination can be used.
- For the topping (optional), a course sugar or salt, chopped nuts, or additional chocolate chips.

Tips for making the best air fryer muffins.
Jumbo silicone air fryer safe muffin cups were used to make my muffins. They were prepped for nonstick by spraying a bit of oil on them before adding the muffin batter.
More helpful tips for you.
- Your dairy ingredients (eggs and milk) should be at room temperature. Room temperature ingredients will make for better blending of the ingredients.
- Use a rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips. Then use a cookie scoop to fill each of the muffin cups ⅔rds full.
- Your muffin cups should be air fryer safe. Most silicon cups are however, I would check to make sure before using them.
- When placing the muffin cups into your air fryer, leave room between the cups for the warm air to flow.
- Depending on the size of your air fryer you may not be able to fit all of your muffins into the basket. If this happens, simply make your muffins in batches.
- These muffins can be baked in a regular oven at 325. Depending on the size of your muffin pan, they should bake for about 20-25 minutes.
