What you will read about in this recipe.
What is air fryer cornbread?
Air fryer cornbread is simply cornbread that has been cooked or baked in an airfryer.
I like how air frying this bread means that I do not have to use my oven, which is nice when you are using it to make something else, like dinner.
Have you tried my recipe for Easy Sheet Pan Eggs?
That sheet pan eggs recipe is especially perfect for when you need to feed a crowd. Both this bread recipe and those sheet pan eggs would go nicely when served together.
To make this recipe you will need a round pan for an air fryer. You can find air fryer safe pans here.

- Cornmeal. Yellow cornmeal gives this bread a classic yellow look.
- Flour. All purpose flour was used to make my bread.
- Baking Powder. The leavening agent used to give this bread fluffy.
- Honey. Added for flavor and for bit of sweetness in every bite.

Tips for making the best cornbread.
Regular all purpose flour was used to make my cornbread. Feel free to use another flour, such as gluten free flour, as long as it measures like regular all purpose flour.
More helpful tips for you.
- My bread was made in a large air fryer. If you have a smaller air fryer you can simple cut the ingredients in half and use a smaller pan.
- Make this recipe into muffins by using an air fryer safe muffin pan.
- Note that air frying times can vary depending on the size of your air fryer and the pan that you are using.
- Buttermilk is used in this recipe to add a bit of flavor and to help with the rising process. Alternatives to buttermilk include sour cream or regular milk (with a teaspoon of vinegar if desired).
- This is one of those recipes where it is important that you prep the pan well for nonstick. You can spray the pan and then dust it with cornmeal for example.
- Feel free to add sliced or chopped peppers for an extra kick.
How to make this Air Fryer Cornbread Recipe
Prep Time: 10 minutes .
Air Fry Time : 20 minutes .
Servings : 8 servings .
- Start by prepping your pan for nonstick. I like to double prep for a recipe such as this one.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk to combine together the cornmeal, flour, and baking powder.
- Next, in another bowl, use a clean whisk to whisk together the honey buttermilk, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients from the second bowl into the first bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix the ingredients, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed, until just combined. A rubber spatula can work well here.
- Transfer the mixed ingredients to your prepared pan.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350 for five minutes. This will also give the batter time to activate the leavening process.
- Air fry your cornbread 18-22 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Carefully remove the pan from the air fryer and run a butter knife around the edges to loosen it from the pan. Then let the bread cool for five minutes before serving.
Expert Tip 👉 To remove the bread from your pan you can place a large plate or thin cutting board upside down over the top of the bread before flipping it over and allowing the bread to fall on to the plate or board.
How to store cornbread.
Once your cornbread has fully cooled it can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored this bread should keep for up to three days at room temperature, on week when refrigerated, or up to a few months when frozen.
