What you need to make slow cooker chili with turkey.
- Turkey. Use already cooked turkey that has been diced into bite-sized pieces. Light or dark can be used.
- Vegetables Onion and Bell Pepper, both diced into small pieces.
- Beans. Kidney Beans and Black Beans, Use canned beans that have been drained and rinsed.
- Garlic. Minced
- Tomatoes. Canned diced tomatoes.
- Broth. Chicken or Turkey broth work in this recipe.

How to make Slow Cooker Leftover Turkey Chili
Prep Time: 10 minutes .
Slow Cook Time: Low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Servings: 6 .
How to Serve: Serve in a bowl with cheese on top and oyster crackers on the side.
Notes: My chili was made in a large crock pot.
- Prepare. Prepare the ingredients as indicated. This includes dicing the turkey, pepper, and onion. You can also prep your slow cooker pot as desired.
- Layer. Placed your diced turkey into you slow cooker. Then add the vegetables, beans,garlic and diced tomatoes.
- Broth. Stir in the broth and seasoning.
- Slow Cook. Cover the slow cooker and cook the chili on low for six to eight hours or on high for three to four hours, stirring one or twice as needed.
- Serve. Serve your chili with shredded cheese, sour cream, or as desired.
Tips for making the best turkey chili.
You can use white meat or dark meat or combination of the two in this chili. The turkey skin should be removed and the turkey should be diced into similar sized pieces.
More helpful tips for you.
- While you could slow cook this chili on high, slow cooking it on low will allow the flavors to melt together for a more flavorful chili.
- Since the turkey has already been cooked, you could add it into your chili mid way through slow cooking to avoid over-cooking it.
- To thicken this chili you can add less broth, take the cover over the chili during the last half hour or so of slow cooking, or stir in a bit of leftover gravy.

Once the turkey chili has fully cooled, it can be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored, turkey chili can keep for up to four days refrigerated or up to a few months when frozen.
