How to make easy air fryer corn on the cob.

Air Fryer Corn on the Cob, Sweet, juicy corn with perfectly tender kernels An easy summer side dish recipe everyone will love.

    • Prep Time 5 Minutes .
    • Air Fry Time 10-14 minutes .
    • Servings 4 .
    • How to serve : Serve warm with butter on the side.
    • Notes: You will need a piece aluminum foil to wrap each ear of corn in. Also, you will need tongs to safely remove the warm corn from the air fryer basket.
    1. Prepare. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F. Also, measure out your foil so that you have a piece of foil for each ear of corn and that piece of foil can fully cover the corn.
    2. Corn. Place each ear of corn onto its own piece of foil.
    3. Toppings. For each ear of corn on foil, plate a tablespoon of solid butter on top. If you are using melted butter you can simply brush it on using a pastry brush or similar item. Then sprinkle the salt on top of the ears of corn.
    4. Wrap. Tightly wrap each ear of corn so that each ear is fully wrapped without any kernels being exposed.
    5. Air Fry. Place each foil wrapped ear of corn into the air fryer, leaving room between each ear for the warm air to circulate around it. Then air fry the corn for 10 minutes.
    6. Foil Use tongs or another method to take each ear of corn out of the air fryer and then remove the foil and place the corn back into the air fryer.
    7. Char. To get that 'outdoor barbecue look and taste', place the corn back into the air fryer and cook for a few more minutes to develop a slight char on each ear.
    8. Serve. Serve your corn warm with additional butter and seasonings as desired.

Tips for making the best air fryer corn on the cob

When selecting your corn, use fresh ears of corn that are similar in size. This will help the ears of corn cook uniformly. Look for ears with bright green husks, plump kernels, and moist stems for the sweetest flavor and best texture.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Make sure that you remove all of the silk from the corn. A vegetable brush or damp paper towel (my choice) can help you do this.
    2. Avoid overcrowding the basket as this can affect the warm air circulation that cooks the corn.
    3. Your corn is done cooking when the kernels are bright yellow, plump, and tender when pierced with a fork or knife. The kernels should feel juicy and easy to bite into without being mushy. Air fryer models vary, so begin checking the corn a minute or two before the recommended cooking time is up.

    FAQ

    • Do I need to soak the corn before air frying?
No. Unlike some grilling methods, soaking is not necessary when cooking corn in the air fryer. Simply husk, clean, season, and cook.
    • Can I cook corn in the husk in the air fryer?
Technically Yes. However, this recipe is designed for husked corn which allows us to add the butter and salt to the kernels directly for cooking.
    • How many ears of corn can I cook at once?
This depends on the size of your air fryer. Most basket-style air fryers can comfortably fit three to four ears of corn in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding for the best results.
    • Can I make this recipe dairy-free?
Absolutely. Replace the butter with a plant-based butter alternative or lightly brush the corn with olive oil or avocado oil.
    • Can I cut the corn into smaller pieces before cooking?
Yes. If the ears are too large for your air fryer basket, cut them in half before seasoning and cooking.

    Variations.

    • Make this a garlic butter corn on the cob by combining minced garlic from two cloves with the butter. The garlic becomes fragrant as the corn cooks and adds rich flavor.
    • Top the cooked corn with mayonnaise, crumbled cotija cheese, chili powder, and fresh lime juice for an easy (Mexican Street Corn) elote-inspired side dish.
    • Mix a teaspoon or two of honey into the melted butter and brush it over the corn before serving for a sweet-and-savory variation.

How to store air fryer corn.

Once your corn has fully cooled, it can be stored in an airtight container or wrapped well. When properly stored, corn should keep four up to four days when refrigerated or up to a few months when frozen.
